Ugh...

Thu Jul 16, 2009, 4:47 PM
Wtf?! It's Thursday, the day after Thursday. I slept ALL of Thursday. I went to class on Thursday. Tomorrow's STILL Thursday?...I hate long naps. I'm SO confused.

  • Mood: Confused
  • Listening to: ¡Forward, Russia!
  • Reading: "Of Experience" by Michel de Montaigne
  • Watching: Peace Maker Kurogane (Idk why?!)
  • Playing: Too disoriented to play.
  • Eating: Pizza
  • Drinking: Milk

Auspicious Day

Thu Sep 25, 2008, 7:43 PM
  • Mood: Delighted
  • Listening to: "Megamix" by O-Zone
  • Reading: Moses: A Life
  • Watching: the minutes fly by.
  • Playing: the game of Life.
  • Eating: Cashews. (^_^)
So I decide to buy a drink, and I'm looking at the vending machine. I had a sore throat, so I thought, "Maybe the acid in soda would kill the germs." I turn to the soda machine, and randomly, out pops a dollar. I was like, "Awesome!" There was no one else there, so I took it. XD The machines on the second floor didn't work though, so I went and talked to someone for a while. Eventually, I head downstairs and go behind this girl who's buying a Sprite. She puts in the money, the can drops, and then another one does too! She turns and offers me the extra can. I say, "Sure!" XD A little while later, I'm telling my lab partner about the incident. I'm talking about how the vending machine gave me the free dollar, so I point to the soda machine to illustrate. I pause mid-sentence though. "It just gave me a dollar...like that one!" I explain, as I go collect another dollar that was sticking out of the machine. All in all, it was pretty awesome! XDDD

That being said, I wish I had gone to One80. :( I kinda have a gut feeling that I should have. You know, that weird intuitive feeling that people sometimes get. Instead, I decided to do work, which, of course, isn't done yet. I get distracted so easily....

On another note, I only have a week of being a "teenager" left. :faint: So odd: I going from 19 to 20 sounds much bigger than going from 18 to 19. I suppose it's the fact that TWO numbers are changing, 1 and 9. Or it may just be something else I can't figure out. Regardless, I get to be a whole two decades. That's like...0.167 Moseses! Lol...We've been discussing Moses WAY too long in class. I'm starting to think I am Moses. :)

Reminder: I'll give a free poem request to anyone who can catch my 3888th page view. :)

I think FB was spazzing, so I re-post this here:

I always find it amazing that Myers-Briggs types are mostly accurate. My type happens to be INFP. The following links give a profile of common characteristics of INFPs:

[link]
[link]

They don't describe me 100% accurately, but they're not wrong about a whole lot. One part that I thought was particularly true was that I am a very hard person to get to know. Few people, if any, know the complete me. I don't even like describing myself to people. That's just the way I am. Nonetheless, I was curious, if I had to, could I describe myself? And what would I say? Therefore, I decided to make this super uber random list of things that describe, relate to me, or just randomly popped into my head while writing the note. Enjoy! You probably won't learn all that much, but enjoy! :)

1. I am fascinated by religion.

2. Only God has absolute existence.

3. I like calling India my mother.

4. I hate crowded places.

5. I require alone time regularly.

6. I am obsessed with making list/plans. They must be perfect.

7. Unless I watch myself, I tend to disregard said lists.

8. I often say the three most important things in life are the three C's: Church, Culture and Community.

9. The three C's are separate in words, but in mind the boundaries are blurred and sometimes non-existent.

10. I am fascinated by Eastern Orthodoxy and attend an Orthodox church. (Thankfully my parents don't know this. :P)

11. Meditation is cool.

12. I want to make an altar/"icon corner" in my room. :D

13. I love candles and icons.

14. I love symbolism.

15. I am a vegetarian because I don't like meat much, don't like how I feel when I eat it, don't think people were made to eat meat, think it's healthier, think it is good for self-discipline, think it's more ethical than being an omnivore (since meat product is less efficient in food production than agriculture and drains resources that could be used to feed the starving people of the world), and just like being different.

16. I want to cover my dorm room with posters. This is my new mission for the year.

17. I dislike being around animals.

18. I am convinced that "hot", "beautiful", and "pretty" have subtle differences in definition and should not be treated as synonyms. (The fact that this thought popped in my head right now is the epitome of randomness. :P)

19. Body and soul are a whole, not enemies.

20. Exercising simply to look and feel good, with no other motive, is vain, narcissistic, and hedonistic.

21. I use the term "friend" very loosely in everyday speech, often in ways that are contrary to my personal opinion of what a "friend" is.

22. If it's okay to say we love worthless inanimate objects, why is it odd to say "I love you" to friends? English is an strange language.

23. I daydream too much.

24. My nom de plume is Zabdi Premjit.

25. I was born and raised to South Florida.

26. I hate being cold, unless I'm wrapped in a blanket.

27. I'm not the best driver in the world, but I like to ignore that detail. :P

28. I hate when friends and/or family show or imply distrust in me.

29. Mustard is vastly superior to ketchup.

30. I'm more likely to tell stories about my family than myself.

31. A sense of religiosity and a belief system is attractive in a person.

32. I don't like being criticised.

33. I tend to show affection in indirect ways, and get frustrated when people don't pick up on it, or don't respond in a definitive manner.

34. In Hindi, good friend is called a "pyaare dost", which more accurately means "dear friend", or "beloved friend". I think that's a much better term than "best/good friend". I can count my "pyaare dost" on less than a hand.

35. I can be overly giving if I really like you.

36. Why is America so obsessed with sex? It's everywhere! For example, so many good movies would be better if their fantastic plots weren't interrupted by poorly placed sex scenes. Are the movie makers more concentrated on art, or crude sensuality? Class and beauty are dead.

37. I work most efficiently alone, but I'm also distracted more efficiently alone. Small groups and pairs are much more consistent in productivity..

38. I dread isolation.

39. I am proud of my heritage/culture. It is very important to me.

40. I really want an Indian flag to put above the door in my room.

41. The perception that the world has a definite and absolute existence is an illusion. You are an illusion.

42. I love the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Indian mythology.

43. My world view is very mystical.

44. The Church, nation/culture, and family are all worthy of veneration. Thinking "veneration equals worship" is ignorant.

45. Devotion should be given to God, nation/culture, family/friends, ideals, values, etc.

46. I find tragic themes like martyrdom, suffering to achieve an end, and unrequited love to be fascinating, moving, and beautiful.

47. I like hanging out with friends, even if I don't feel like talking.

48. I often talk just because I feel others expect someone to and I want to relieve the awkwardness.

49. I'm sometimes easily irritated.

50. I like to believe that I'm funny and interesting when in a talkative mood, though I may just be to me. :-P

51. Odd discussions are awesome.

52. When I get married, I want 2-5 children.

53. I like hanging out with people one-on-one or in small groups.

54. I care very little about politics.

55. I tend to often be idealistic.

56. A true friendship involves strong trust, empathy, lifelong loyalty, commitment, and a certain level of devotion.

57. A sense of pride in one's heritage is an attractive quality in a person.

58. I am annoyed by ungrateful people who don't reciprocate favour and affection.

59. I don't like feeling "out of the loop".

60. My appropriation of favour is mostly based on grace and affection. It may not always be logical. In fact, it often isn't/

61. Sometimes the best way to avoid a contradiction, is to take a contradictory stance.

62. I sometimes feel ideologically, intellectually, and spiritually constrained by the English language.

63. As long as they remain within our thoughts and memories, ancestors and dead love ones should be considered as much a part of our community as living relatives and friends, howbeit in a less evident manner. They are just as deserving of love and prayers.

64. Hindustan is not a country. She transcends physical place, race, ethnicity, culture, genealogy, ideology, religion, philosophy, custom, tradition, etc.

65. I'm annoyed by people who force you to be the sole talker because they never say anything, as well as friends who seldom take the initiative to communicate.

66. Love is the highest virtue and includes all other virtue. She is God and the expression of God, the gateway to, means for, and the ultimate goal of mystical experience.

67. Sometimes, it's alright, and even desirable, to be illogical.

68. God is manifest in all aspects of creation, and the true seeker sees him through all.

69. If I feel bad about something, it tends to pop into my head and convict me periodically for the rest of my life, even if, relatively speaking, it wasn't that bad of an act, or unintentional.

70. I like to listen to what people have to say. Even when those random survey and missionary people start talking to me, I usually stop and listen.

71. I don't think I could ever hold a grudge.

72. I'm a relatively calm person, most of the time.

73. I'm horribly disorganized.

74. I have poor time management skill and tend to procrastinate.

75. I hate when people keep their place filthy.

76. My ideal home would be within walking difference of my job, church, family, friends, and all needed stores.

77. I hate addressing older people by their first name only. It's disrespectful and awkward.

78. I like having something hot to drink right before I go to bed.

79. Sushi is awesome.

80. I hate doing extensive cleaning, but I feel so accomplished afterward.

81. Chili's is a crappy restaurant. Very anti-Mikhail. DX

82. Why do people think chicken isn't meat? It's a bird! It lived, moved, etc., and you kill it to eat the flesh. How do you not equate chicken with meat? (Yes, I am aware meat has many definitions, but that's beside the point.)

83. Truth is absolute, but morals are relative, that is, acts aren't necessarily good or bad in and of themselves. That doesn't mean we don't have "should"s and "should not"s.

84. The fruits of our actions impact the entirety of material creation.

85. The material world is an endless cycle of destruction and creation. That is what it means to be mortal.

86. Mortality is the prime consequence of Original Sin, not personal guilt.

87. Stop asking me if I eat cheese, then being confused when I say "maybe". It's all about the rennet!

88. Don't try to "one up" me. It's annoying.

89. I want an NES in my dorm room.

90. I think people find me boring and uninteresting.

91. I am a Libra.

92. I believe in the evil eye, evil spirits, angels, etc.

93. Dreams about family/friends dying might be bad omens and foreshadow someone's actual death, though not necessarily the person in the dream.

94. I love the sound of chanting. Very beautiful.

95. I refuse to consider myself a Jamaican. (-_-)

96. I wish I knew the Jamaican dialect of Hindustani, Hindi, Urdu, Greek, Syriac, Spanish, and Arabic. Mostly the first three.

97. It's normal to have people randomly start speaking Spanish around you; it's not normal to have them randomly break out in a southern accent.

98. Rodeos? Hoedowns?! Oh no...I'm in hell. I'm sorry God; please save me! (T_T)

99. When you go to visit your cousin who's a USF Alumni, find out that the UCF/USF game is on, and then witness the Bulls win while people are rooting for them...it ain't fun! DX

100. You're sick?! :-O Drink some ginger tea!

Thinking of a hundred things was hard. I kind of just wrote whatever came to mind first. A lot probably doesn't have to do with me directly. Oh well! XD

Wow.
